Nurse Aide I Day Program
NAS 3240
The Nurse Aide I Training Course is being offered as an in-person class with a classroom, lab, and clinical component. This continuing education department class is limited to the first 10 eligible students. Students will be required to have access to a computer that supports the required programs and internet access.
This course includes the basic nursing skills required to provide safe, competent personal care for individuals. Emphasis is placed on person-centered care, the aging process, safety, care of the elderly during emergencies, legal and ethical issues, communication, infection prevention, vital signs, height and weight measurements, elimination, nutrition, basic restorative care, rehabilitation, dementia, mental health, and end-of-life care. Upon successful completion, students will be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills for the entry-level practice of Nurse Aide I. Students will be eligible to test for listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide I Registry by completing the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program administered by the North Carolina State testing agency.

Times: Tuesdays and Thursdays: 8 am-5 pm
Total Hours: 160 Hours
Mandatory Orientation: May 15, 2025, at 10:00 am in Building 17, Room 109
Location of Class: Building 17, Room 109
Cost: Tuition and Fees are $275.80, and textbooks are approximately $50.00. The NA I manual with student study guide is located at the MTCC Bookstore.
The last day to register, provide and meet eligibility documentation, and pay tuition is Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
