Healthcare Billing & Coding: Class II Procedure Coding
Description: This course prepares an individual for entry-level healthcare billing and coding
positions. Course topics can include but are not limited to the roles and responsibilities of this
position, managed health care, the life cycle of an insurance claim, legal and regulatory considerations,
coding regulations, reimbursement issues, claim instructions, medical terminology, filing commercial
claims, insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and Workers & Compensation. Upon
completion, students should also be able to utilize MS Windows and the Internet to effectively retrieve
positions. Course topics can include but are not limited to the roles and responsibilities of this
position, managed health care, the life cycle of an insurance claim, legal and regulatory considerations,
coding regulations, reimbursement issues, claim instructions, medical terminology, filing commercial
claims, insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and Workers & Compensation. Upon
completion, students should also be able to utilize MS Windows and the Internet to effectively retrieve
billing-related information and updates. This course specifically covers the current year's version of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding Set (HCPCS).

Class Cost: Tuition is $366.50 + Textbooks approximately $350 as Code manuals cost vary from year to year.

Connect Access Code Fee: $136.50 included in Tuition Cost, instructor will provide the code to the student at Orientation
ICD-10-CM Expert for Providers and Facilities 2023 or 2024, CPT 2023 or 2024 Professional Edition, HCPCS Level II Expert 2023 or 2024
Coding Manuals: Cost: approximately $350.00.
